Some paintings don't exist yet. They have to be made for you. A place you love, the people who belong to it, small details only you would know.
I take on a small number of commissions each year. That way every painting gets the time it deserves.

From the very first contact, Mari showed a genuine interest in understanding the story behind the work and what we wanted it to represent. We had many specific wishes, symbols and small details that needed to be woven together, and Mari managed to honour all of it in an impressive way, while making it her own artistic expression.
The result was far better than we could have imagined. It is clear that Mari truly put her soul into the painting, and we now have a work that means so much to us and that we hope will follow our family for the rest of our lives.
Just as impressive was the follow-up afterwards. Mari truly cared that we were 100% happy, and when we later wanted to add one last figure to our family's story, she offered to complete the work for us herself.

It starts with what matters to you
Some people come to me with a long list of wishes. Others just have a feeling. Both are a good place to begin. I listen, and then I turn it into a painting.
A place you love
The mountain from your childhood. The view from the cabin. The sea where you met. I paint it the way it feels, not like a photograph.
Your people
One silhouette, two, or the whole family. Small figures in a wide landscape. A quiet story about who you are.
Symbols and small details
A bird, a boat, a path, a colour that means something. Details maybe only you will notice, but they make the painting yours.
From first message to your wall
- You tell me. Write to me about what you're dreaming of. Send photos of your wall, your room or the place the painting should hold.
- We talk it through. I ask questions and suggest size and colours. You get a price before anything is decided.
- I paint. I weave your wishes into my own expression. It usually takes 4 to 8 weeks once I begin.
- We make it just right. If something doesn't feel quite right, we figure it out together. I want you to love it.
- Your painting comes home. Signed, with a certificate of authenticity, and carefully packed. I ship worldwide.

I trained as a psychologist. I've seen how much our rooms shape how we feel. So I always start by listening. What should the painting hold, and who will live with it?
A commission is one of the most meaningful things I get to make. It will hang in your home for many years. I want it to feel right every single time you look at it.

What if I don't know exactly what I want?
That's completely normal. Tell me about the room and what you love, and we'll find it together.
How long does it take?
Usually 4 to 8 weeks once I begin. There is often a waiting list before I can start, so if you have a date in mind, like a birthday or Christmas, reach out early.
Can you paint people?
I paint people as silhouettes in the landscape, not detailed portraits. One, two or a whole family. That's what keeps the paintings timeless.
What sizes can you do?
Almost any size up to 250x250 cm. See the price list above, or ask me about a size that fits your wall.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, I ship worldwide. When you get in touch, I'll give you shipping options based on where you live and the size of the painting.
Am I committing to anything by getting in touch?
No. You only decide once we've agreed on the idea and the price.
